Portugal’s sun-drenched Algarve is renowned for its long swathes of sandy beaches – and justly so as they fringe almost the entire length of its coastline. Nestled on the southern tip of Portugal, and running from the Spanish border in the east to the Atlantic coast in the west, the Algarve encompasses a vast array of beguiling landscapes.

Quinta Verde is located under one kilometre from Quinta do Lago in the area known as the Golden Triangle in Central Algarve. This triangle runs from Almancil to Quinta do Lago to Vale do Lobo. It is renowned for its wonderful selection of golf courses, beautiful coastline and excellent cuisine as well as the abundance of natural beauty with the Ria Formosa Nature Walks and the many Lakes surrounding it. Set amongst beautiful pine trees and home to many upmarket shops, restaurants and nightclubs, the Golden Triangle caters for a discerning clientele.

Golf
 

The Algarve has been a magnet to many discerning golfers for almost three decades. Portugal's southernmost province is justly famous for its spectacular scenery along a fabulous coastline.

Add to this 24+ beautifully tended golf courses, a friendly climate, a cosmopolitan culture and wholesome regional cooking, all in a compact area steeped in history, and you have the ultimate in year-round golfing destinations.

There are six golf courses within the area that can all be reached within a five-minute drive.

Tennis
 

The local Tennis Academy is situated in the centre of the resport and considered one of the finest facilities of its kind in Europe. The 14 hard courts (4 of which are the new Savanah artificial grass) are set in a pine-clad amphitheatre overlooked by the superb Clubhouse. It is difficult to find a more relaxing and picturesque setting to enjoy a game of tennis. The tennis academy also has a gym, sauna, steam room, swimming pool, massage room, bar and restaurant.

 
Horse Riding
  There is a local riding center that is open to all ages/levels of expertise and is a fabulous holiday experience.
 
Eating Out
 

Algarve is a great place to enjoy seafood and fish Grilled sardines are a great speciality along with swordfish, bream, squid, clams and more. One good dish to try is Cataplana which is done with lots of garlic, clams and pork. Pork and chicken are the main meat dishes. Chicken piri-piri is the famous dish in Monchique restaurants and can be mild and tangy or very hot and spicy.

Lagos
 

One of the most ancient settlements in the Algarve, Lagos remains an established fishing port and market centre.

Loule
 

This charismatic market town and thriving craft centre lays 18km inland from the bustling capital city of Faro. Full of character, the heart of Loule embraces an energetic market, which comes alive with colour on Saturday’s when shared by Portuguese gypsies selling their wares and bargains are abound.

Monchique
  A peaceful retreat set in a stunning mountain region, Monchique is famed for the dramatic views that surround this small market town. Wooden handicrafts are a speciality here, particularly the distinctive cross-shaped chairs that are thought to date back to Roman times, which are sold at the fortnightly market with its famous furniture and legendary hams.
Seville
  It only takes 1½ hours by car to travel to Seville which is the perfect reason to visit the fourth largest city in Spain. Seville is the sunniest city in Spain and the centre is crammed with sights. If you are only visiting for the day the best way to see the city is by horse and carrrige.
